Marvel Multiverse Table Top Role-Playing Game - Summer 2023

A new Marvel TTRPG is heading our way for Summer 2023. I have some really fond memories of the Marvel Superheroes Roleplaying game put out by TSR in the 1980's. It was right along side Dungeons & Dragons as one of my introductory games to ttrpgs. This new game looks to be based purely on a six-sided dice system. The playtest rulebook for the game is available now for anyone who wants to run an early version of the game through its paces before the finalized version comes out next year. I'll admit I'm curious enough make that purchase myself. Here is the official press release from Marvel:  MARVEL LAUNCHING CORE RULEBOOK FOR NEW TABLETOP ROLE-PLAYING GAME IN SUMMER 2023   ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: CORE RULEBOOK’ AVAILABLE JUNE 2023   FOLLOWED BY ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: THE CATACLYSM OF KANG’ AVAILABLE JULY 2023     Use the D616 game system to embody your favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains!     New York, NY— August 22, 2022 –  New adventu

Baltimore Comic Con This Weekend, September 8th and 9th, 2012

September in Maryland is a great time of year in this state that I call my home. Honeycrisp apples are in season, the summer heat is giving away to the cooler temperatures of autumn. Its also a big month for comic book readers and collectors in this region. Baltimore Comic Con has become a September tradition in this area, and with every year it becomes and increasingly larger event. I've had the pleasure of watching this convention grow into spectacular event. I remember the humble beginnings of this convention and am still proud and amazed at what it has become.

This year looks to be even better than last year, and I thought last year was amazing. Stand out guests for me include Stan Lee and John Romita Sr, who will be together in a panel session this weekend. There are special VIP tickets available for that give these ticket holders additional time with Stan Lee. Stan has extended his stay in Baltimore so he'll be here for both days.

The British Invasion is a theme running through this years convention with many of the top comic book talent from the UK attending including Garth Ennis, Brian Bolland, and Mark Buckingham to name a few. The British Embassy will also have an exhibit just outside the main hall with the work of British talent past and present on display. Showing the impact creators from the other side of the pond have had on the industry.

Valiant Comics will be making some major announcements regarding their line-up of characters and details on what other characters are coming back. Marvel will also have a panel on their Marvel NOW event that will be kicking into gear this autumn. There will be a costume contest, the annual Harvey Awards ceremony and dinner, plenty of show exclusives and a robust artist alley all promise to make this years comic con a memorable one.

If you want a large show that is dedicated to comic books, not movies and television show, a purely comic book celebration then Baltimore Comic Con is one of the few options out there and its a helluva show.

Go to the Baltimore Comic Con website for details. This is a great show to go to if you've never been to a convention before or if you are a long time lover of the medium. There are always great people in attendance. I'm so happy that a show of this caliber is just up the highway from my house, its truly awesome.
