Marvel Multiverse Table Top Role-Playing Game - Summer 2023

A new Marvel TTRPG is heading our way for Summer 2023. I have some really fond memories of the Marvel Superheroes Roleplaying game put out by TSR in the 1980's. It was right along side Dungeons & Dragons as one of my introductory games to ttrpgs. This new game looks to be based purely on a six-sided dice system. The playtest rulebook for the game is available now for anyone who wants to run an early version of the game through its paces before the finalized version comes out next year. I'll admit I'm curious enough make that purchase myself. Here is the official press release from Marvel:  MARVEL LAUNCHING CORE RULEBOOK FOR NEW TABLETOP ROLE-PLAYING GAME IN SUMMER 2023   ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: CORE RULEBOOK’ AVAILABLE JUNE 2023   FOLLOWED BY ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: THE CATACLYSM OF KANG’ AVAILABLE JULY 2023     Use the D616 game system to embody your favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains!     New York, NY— August 22, 2022 –  New adventu

Magic: TG - Innistrad Prerelease September 24-25, 2011

Next weekend the prerelease events will be ramping up for the new Innistrad card set for Magic: The Gathering.

Innistrad is a dangerous plane filled with powerful magic. If you can overcome—or overpower—the evil here, you'll reap the rewards, unleashing those horrors on any who stand before you. How will your decks embrace this chilling new world?
Horrifying creatures have always existed on Innistrad. The humans of this world have always relied on their faith to shield them from vampires and werewolves, spirits and ghouls. But of late, the holy wards and runes have begun to fail. The protection of travelers' shrines and rustic prayers grows weak. The spells of vampire slayers and wolfhunters are no longer proof against the creatures that prowl the shadows. The Lunarch, head of the revered Church of Avacyn, knows what the village priests whisper: that the archangel Avacyn has abandoned Innistrad. - The World of Innistrad
I'm having a revived interest in this card game after playing the video game version on Xbox 360 whenever I have a chance. This looks like a great time to get back into the hobby. A gallery of the Innistrad cards images can be seen on the Wizards of the Coast site. There is some really amazing artwork with this series, as there always is with this game. The artwork is something I've always enjoyed. An element new to me at least is the concept of a "double-faced" card with some new playing rules to handle these special cards. I hope some of these cards and concepts can be added to the computer/console game as DLC options. I'll be buying a few of the actual cards regardless to add to my new deck that has so far gone untested in 2011.

At prerelease tournament events this coming weekend (Sept. 24-25, 2011) attendees will be able experience the new cards a week early. In addition to the sealed deck that includes 6 Innistrad booster packs attendees will receive a promo card and an achievement card with activities to complete during the event. See you the Wizards of the Coast tournament locator for an event near you.
