Marvel Multiverse Table Top Role-Playing Game - Summer 2023

A new Marvel TTRPG is heading our way for Summer 2023. I have some really fond memories of the Marvel Superheroes Roleplaying game put out by TSR in the 1980's. It was right along side Dungeons & Dragons as one of my introductory games to ttrpgs. This new game looks to be based purely on a six-sided dice system. The playtest rulebook for the game is available now for anyone who wants to run an early version of the game through its paces before the finalized version comes out next year. I'll admit I'm curious enough make that purchase myself. Here is the official press release from Marvel:  MARVEL LAUNCHING CORE RULEBOOK FOR NEW TABLETOP ROLE-PLAYING GAME IN SUMMER 2023   ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: CORE RULEBOOK’ AVAILABLE JUNE 2023   FOLLOWED BY ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: THE CATACLYSM OF KANG’ AVAILABLE JULY 2023     Use the D616 game system to embody your favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains!     New York, NY— August 22, 2022 –  New adventu

San Diego Comic Con 2011 - Saturday Program Schedule Highlights

SDCC is this week, so I better hurry it up and crank out the rest of these highlights. Here we have the Saturday line up available here in its total glory: http://www.comic-con.org/cci/cci11_prog_sat.php

Now IF I were attending, and God to I wish I were. These would be my choices:

HIGHLIGHTS

Saturdays are such a busy day on the expo floor so I would be attending alot of panels and programs today if I could. That Expo floor gets incredibly packed.

This is a pick where the artist and fanboy in me are in agreement on. I'm a big fan of Adam Hughes, I had a chance to meet him once briefly in Orlando at Mega Con about 10 years ago. This would be a great way to spend an hour and half.

10:30-12:00 Comic-Con How-To: Sketching with Adam Hughes— Award-winning artist Adam Hughes demonstrates sketching with grayscale Copic Markers. Adam is best known for his cover art for DC Comics, some of which was collected in Cover Run: The DC Comics Art of Adam Hughes, a hardcover coffeetable book. Room 28DE

If Artwork isn't your thing than this would be secondary go to for this time slot:

10:30-11:30 Marvel Television— Marvel's head of TV Jeph Loeb brings the inside scoop on Marvel's latest series that take your favorite heroes from page to screen. Get a first look at the premiere of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes season two, a sneak peek at a certain ultimate webslinger, and a few other surprises from Marvel Television. Room 6BCF

Its not often you get to meet a legend:
11:30-12:30 Spotlight on Steranko— Comic-Con special guest Steranko, the Eisner Hall of Fame-winning writer/illustrator/filmmaker/escape artist, presents a provocative forum featuring his work on Captain America, X-Men, S.H.I.E.L.D., The Shadow, Indiana Jones and more, including a new series ofBatman covers and his groundbreaking graphic novel Red Tide. Moderator J. David Spurlock promises to reveal a new storm of secrets from the Steranko bag of tricks. Room 5AB

Back on the TV tip, the Futurama panel looks like a great line up

12:15-1:00 Futurama— Futurama is back! Again! On stage will be creator/executive producer Matt Groening, executive producer David X. Cohen, and stars Billy West (Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg), Katey Sagal (Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender), and Maurice LaMarche (Kif Kroker, Calculon, Morbo). Get a sneak peek at never-before-seen footage of Futurama reincarnated as Japanese anime, along with a thrilling preview of this summer's new season on Comedy Central. Moderated by Bill Morrison. Ballroom 20
Another very talented man, though I'm not looking forward to the new series, The Infinite his other works from the Walking Dead to Invincible are incredible.

1:00-2:00 Robert Kirkman— One of the most prolific writers in comics today, Robert Kirkman is known for his work on The Walking Dead, Invincible, Super Dinosaur, Astounding Wolf-Man, Marvel Zombies, and the upcoming series with Rob Liefeld, The Infinite. After becoming an Image Comics partner in 2009 and introducing the internationally renowned hit TV show based on the comic he created, The Walking Dead on AMC, he has proven to be an unstoppable creative force. In 2010, Kirkman launched his own imprint at Image Comics, Skybound, providing him the opportunity to hand pick up-and-coming creators and maintain an active role in promoting and expanding their properties as Skybound Originals. Here he offers fans some insight behind their favorite hit comics. Room 25ABC

I alway attend the Marvel Cup O' Joe panel

2:45-3:45 Marvel: Cup O' Joe— This is it, Mighty Marvel fans -- the no-holds-barred, anything goes, full of surprises panel you wait all year for! Marvel's chief creative officer Joe Quesada takes on all questions, shocks the audience with jaw-dropping announcements, and keeps you guessing with surprise guests. You never know who will show up, but you better be here, because this is the panel that everyone will be talking about! Room 6BCF

I'm very curious about this movie, plus I'd start camping out in Hall H by this time so that I could attend the Kevin Smith event.
3:30-4:15 Universal Pictures: Snow White and the Huntsmen— Universal Pictures is bringing the stars and filmmakers of its epic action-adventure film based on the script Snow White and the Huntsman to Comic-Con. Scheduled to appear to discuss their roles in this breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale are Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Oscar winnerCharlize Theron (Prometheus), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides). Director Rupert Sanders (Halo 3 campaign) and other filmmakers will also be on hand to reveal exclusive footage. Q&A session to follow. Hall H

5:45-7:30 An Early Evening with Kevin Smith— You know Comic-Con is over for the night on Saturday when the fat man sings. Kevin Smith takes to the Hall H stage for his annual Q&A. Fair warning: he works bluer than Doctor Manhattan (though, unlike Doctor Manhattan, Smith will wear clothes for this performance). Hall H

The only thing that would get me out of Hall H is to attend the annual Fables panel. I've been a supporter for this book since the first issue hit the stands. You can ask my wife, she's been hearing the stories retold second hand for years.
7:00-8:00 Fables— The annual Fables panel has become a Comic-Con tradition -- and with the original graphic novel Fables: Werewolves of the Heartland on the way this fall, there's no better time to hear what Bill Willingham, creator of the multi-Eisner Award-winning series, has to say. Join Bill, artists Mark Buckingham and Steve Leialoha, group editor Shelly Bond, and others for a panel that is truly legendary. Room 6DE
