Marvel Multiverse Table Top Role-Playing Game - Summer 2023

A new Marvel TTRPG is heading our way for Summer 2023. I have some really fond memories of the Marvel Superheroes Roleplaying game put out by TSR in the 1980's. It was right along side Dungeons & Dragons as one of my introductory games to ttrpgs. This new game looks to be based purely on a six-sided dice system. The playtest rulebook for the game is available now for anyone who wants to run an early version of the game through its paces before the finalized version comes out next year. I'll admit I'm curious enough make that purchase myself. Here is the official press release from Marvel:  MARVEL LAUNCHING CORE RULEBOOK FOR NEW TABLETOP ROLE-PLAYING GAME IN SUMMER 2023   ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: CORE RULEBOOK’ AVAILABLE JUNE 2023   FOLLOWED BY ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: THE CATACLYSM OF KANG’ AVAILABLE JULY 2023     Use the D616 game system to embody your favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains!     New York, NY— August 22, 2022 –  New adventu

ND Food Review: Dangerously Delicious Pies DC

The section of the District of Columbia where I work is often visited by a variety of food trucks. These are the gourmet or specialty food trucks mind you, not the hot dogs and soda guys, though we have those around too. Yesterday I visited the Dangerously Delicious Pie truck, they have a two restaurants in Baltimore and one down here in DC. They are responsible for the most memorable lunch I've had in a long time.

I'll include the link to their website at the bottom of this entry. I got to the truck late so there was a limited selection, however these folks bake up a wide variety of savory & sweet pies, as well as quiches. I chose a slice of the BBQ Pulled Pork Pie and a slice of a dessert pie called the Baltimore Bomb (more on that later).

The BBQ Pulled Pork pie was for the lack of a better word, perfection. The flakey crust was baked perfectly. Nowhere was it burnt or doughy, it was provided a great complement to the moist, flavorful, bbq pulled pork a layer down. The slice of pie was generous and I enjoyed this meat pie without any additional bbq sauce. Plus it was very filling almost so that I worried I wouldn't be able to do justice to my dessert.

The Baltimore Bomb pie is something totally new to me. I mean even though I've never had a pork pie, I have had pulled pork so I knew what to expect. The Baltimore Bomb is something totally new to me in the realm of pie. Here is the description from their website: .. .it's loaded with Berger Cookies (a local specialty) that melt down and swirl into a sweet vanilla chess filling... IT WAS AMAZING. The baked goodness of all that chocolate and crumbled cookie and vanilla was such a new dessert experience I cherished every bite.

This place isn't a hidden gem by any means. The local City Paper voted them best pies in the DC. The shops and their creations have been on the Food Network more than once. But still I had to rave about this meal because it was such a special moment. The pies are available for order over the internet. So please check out their website: http://www.dangerouspiesdc.com/ .
