Marvel Multiverse Table Top Role-Playing Game - Summer 2023

A new Marvel TTRPG is heading our way for Summer 2023. I have some really fond memories of the Marvel Superheroes Roleplaying game put out by TSR in the 1980's. It was right along side Dungeons & Dragons as one of my introductory games to ttrpgs. This new game looks to be based purely on a six-sided dice system. The playtest rulebook for the game is available now for anyone who wants to run an early version of the game through its paces before the finalized version comes out next year. I'll admit I'm curious enough make that purchase myself. Here is the official press release from Marvel:  MARVEL LAUNCHING CORE RULEBOOK FOR NEW TABLETOP ROLE-PLAYING GAME IN SUMMER 2023   ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: CORE RULEBOOK’ AVAILABLE JUNE 2023   FOLLOWED BY ‘MARVEL MULTIVERSE ROLE-PLAYING GAME: THE CATACLYSM OF KANG’ AVAILABLE JULY 2023     Use the D616 game system to embody your favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains!     New York, NY— Aug...

Comic Pull List - 3/2/2011

Here's my pull list for the week. I don't get to do comic reviews as often as I want to. However, I can still clue you all into what I'm reading and why.

Annihilators #1 - First in a mini series of four issues. I'm loving the cosmic adventures that have come out of the Marvel the past few years. This focuses on a few of the heroes from these series along with Rocket Raccoon. 'Nuff said.

Batman Beyond #3 - Batman and the future version of the Justice League vs. a new Matter Master. Sounds cool. I've been watching the old Batman Beyond cartoon lately on HUB, so the timing of the this new series has been perfect for my interest in this character and this version of the DC Universe's future. Adjusting to Ryan Benjamin's art style hasn't been easy for me, but I'm getting into it.

Darkwing Duck Annual #1 - I've been picking this up fairly regularly. I'd honestly forgotten how much I enjoyed this cartoon when it was on during the week. BOOM Studio has quickly reminded me how much fun Darkwing Duck is. Plus the cover of this annual is almost worth the purchase alone. I'm not alone in my enjoyment of this series judging by the amount of chatter it prompts online.

Heroes for Hire #4 - So far its been a good twist on the H for H concept. The choice of characters and their portrayal has been great. Paladin, Falcon, Iron Fist and of course Misty Knight. Plus the Puppet Master thrown in as the villain (or is he?).

Secret Warriors #25 - A Double Sized issue that is supposed reveal some of the answers to questions we've had since this series started. I've read through the 1 thru 24 over the past couple of weeks, so I'm all in on this series right now. Despite some crossovers with the big Marvel summer events, this book has done a great job shaking up all we've known about S.H.I.E.L.D and Hydra. Some of the best Nick Fury adventures created in years.

Uncle Scrooge #401 - Don Rosa, Carl Barks. These two names are enough to get me to buy any Disney comic book. Pick this up if you ever found yourself enjoying the DuckTales cartoon. These are some of the best stories of the "funny animal" genre, bar none.
