As most superhero comicbook fanboys & fangirls know Amazing Fantasy #15 is the first appearance of Spider-Man. Published in 1962 with a cover price of 12 cents. This near-mint copy of the comic was purchased my a private collector in Philadelphia, PA. At the purchase price of $1.1 Million this is now most expensive comic book of the Silver Age, setting a new record. The auction was held online by ComicConnect.com.

Amazing Fantasy #15 tells the origin of Spider-Man that we've all become familiar with.With a cover penciled by Jack Kirby & inked by Steve Ditko and interior art by Steve Ditko. This is an amazing piece to own for so many reasons.

Hell if I won the lottery tomorrow this would be on my list of frivolous bullshit that I'd waste some cash on before doing responsible stuff with my winnings.
